JOB DESCRIPTION:
L&M Architectural Signs is seeking a Vinyl Graphics Technician for a hybrid vinyl and large-format print production role. The primary focus of this role is vinyl work: plotting and cutting on vinyl plotters/cutters, weeding, transfer taping, applying graphics to substrates, and packing finished work for installation or shipping. Print production is a secondary part of the role and can be trained. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, production-minded, and comfortable working with vinyl and print equipment, finishing processes, materials handling, and day-to-day shop coordination.
This position is intended for a capable production contributor who can help move jobs from file to finished output with consistency and care. The role may include both independent task ownership and support for broader production workflow across vinyl, print, graphics, fabrication, and installation teams.
Primary responsibilities (vinyl) include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operating vinyl plotters/cutters to cut vinyl graphics.
- Weeding, masking, and transfer taping vinyl graphics.
- Applying vinyl and printed graphics to substrates on an application table.
- Packing completed vinyl work in preparation for installation or shipping.
- Preparing printed and cut-vinyl graphics for handoff to fabrication or installation.
Secondary responsibilities (print and finishing), which can be trained on the job:
- Operating the laminator, and trimming and finishing printed work.
- Operating our digital flatbed cutter as needed.
- Preparing materials for print and output.
- Operating or assisting with large-format print production equipment.
General responsibilities:
- Verifying job specifications, dimensions, and output quality.
- Coordinating with managers and production staff to keep jobs moving on schedule.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and production-ready work area.
- Assisting with deadline-sensitive shop tasks as needed to support overall workflow.
This role is best suited to someone who takes pride in clean execution, understands the importance of detail in branded and architectural graphics, and can work steadily in a fast-paced shop environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience running vinyl plotters/cutters is required.
- Prior experience in vinyl production (weeding, transfer taping, and application), sign graphics production, or a related production environment is strongly preferred.
- Laminator, digital flatbed cutter, or large-format printing experience is a plus but not required; we will train.
- Familiarity with graphics materials, laminating and finishing workflow, and production accuracy.
- Ability to read work orders and follow production instructions carefully.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and comfort working in a deadline-driven setting.
- Experience in signage, environmental graphics, or custom branded graphics production is a plus.
- Ability to handle physical work in a production environment and assist with shop workflow as needed.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $22-$30 per hour, depending upon experience.
- Health and dental insurance available after 3 months of employment.
- 401(k) available.
- Annual paid company break between Christmas and New Year’s.
- Eight (8) paid holidays per year.
L&M Architectural Signs is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
